Second shock on Antalya Western Ring Road

Second shock in Antalya Western Ring Road: Trade associations filed a lawsuit for suspension of execution and annulment for the modification of the zoning plan for 1800 hectares of agricultural land for 250 meters on the Western Ring Road. The decision of the Soil Conservation Board for the application of the Kepez Municipality for housing and equipment in an area of 800 decares for the 1685-meter road in Duraliler district of the same road drew great reaction.
This second event, which took place after the Metropolitan Municipality's implementation of the zoning plan modification for the 15-meter road in 1800 hectares of the Western Ring Road, which has been discussed on the agenda of Antalya for nearly 250 years, attracted a great reaction from the trade associations. Chamber of Agricultural Engineers Antalya Branch President Vahap Tuncer and City Planners Chamber Antalya Branch President Haşim Dikencik announced the decision taken by the Soil Conservation Board upon the application of the Kepez Municipality.
TOTAL AGRICULTURAL LAND
Stating that Kepez Municipality applied to the Soil Conservation Board on March 15, 2015, Vahap Tuncer said that 524,4 decares of irrigated absolute agricultural land, 543,9 decares of planted dry agricultural land and 615,1 decares of marginal irrigated agricultural land. He said that decares of agricultural land are used for non-agricultural purposes. Noting that this area in Duraliler Neighborhood is combined with the planned areas adjacent to the city and integrated into the Western Ring Road, Tuncer stated that it is requested to plan for housing and reinforcement purposes, and that orange, olive and pomegranate trees are intense in the region.
SUPERIOR PLANS AND USULE AGREEMENT
Stating that the road passes through a very small part at the western end of the Duraliler region, Tuncer stated that the planning of 700 decares of agricultural land for housing and reinforcement for the 800-1685,4 meter road is against the public interest and will harm the city. Stating that the area was planned as an agricultural area in the 1/100 thousand landscaping and 1/25 thousand master zoning plan, Tuncer said that the planned plan is against the upper scale plans. Tuncer said that while the authority to make, have and approve master development plans is under the authority of the Metropolitan Municipality, it is against the procedure that this request is sent from Kepez Municipality and discussed at the Soil Conservation Board.
MAIN PURPOSE DIFFERENT
Stating that the Soil Conservation Board approved the application with the majority of votes, Tuncer said that the main purpose was to eliminate this deficiency and the mistakes in the erroneous planning made since there was not enough reinforcement area in the Avni Tolunay area. Explaining that the way to overcome this is the destruction of 1685 decares of agricultural land, Tuncer said, “Antalya, which lost 10 thousand decares of agricultural land in the last 248 years, has no more agricultural land to lose. As the Chamber of Agricultural Engineers, we will apply to the judgment regarding the decision of the Soil Conservation Board. We requested authorization for the lawsuit from the headquarters and we will do our best to prevent the disposal of nearly 2 thousand decares of agricultural land by filing a lawsuit with the relevant professional chambers to apply when it comes, ”he said.
