The countdown continues in the Ankara-Keçiören metro. Keçiören - Sincan and Çayyolu subway is waiting to be completed since 2003. Ankara residents were wondering when these lines would be completed. The first step was taken for Keçiören Metro.

About a month and a half ago, the contract was signed with the company that won the tender for the production of the Keçiören subway. Kecioren metro, which is planned to be completed in two and a half years, will be integrated with other metro lines.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication Binali Yıldırım said, “The most important feature of the project will be integration with the other line, namely Ankaray. All lines will be integrated with the existing line. We will have the opportunity to travel comfortably. Now Xinjiang – Kecioren is not far away. Cities will become united. Those living in Sincan will travel from home to work, from work to Eryaman, to Ümitköy, to Keçiören, without wasting time in traffic,” he said.

Ankara Keçiören Metro will consist of 11 stops

Keçiören metro will extend from Gazino stop to Tandoğan. The length of the line, which will consist of 11 stops in total, will be 68 kilometers.

Minister Binali Yıldırım also gave good news to the people of Ankara. Yıldırım said, “The tender for the two metro lines, Kızılay Çayyolu and Sincan lines, has ended. Works on all 3 metro lines will start simultaneously. The tender for 324 train sets will be held and completed simultaneously. If everything goes well in two and a half years, we plan to finish the subways, unless there is an extraordinary situation.” A hard bargain was also made for the Keçiören Metro line, which was planned to be completed in 880 days.
