Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that they will upgrade the Nurdağı-Gaziantep road to the divided road standard and pointed out that they will reduce the travel time from 60 minutes to 30 minutes. Emphasizing that a total of 115 million TL will be saved annually with the project, Karaismailoğlu said that they will also make a significant contribution to the growth of the economy in the region.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Nurdağı-Musabeyli Junction-Gaziantep Road. Underlining that one of the most important indicators of a developed civilization and a strong country is its transportation network and infrastructure, Karaismailoğlu said that road transportation is among the indispensable transportation modes of countries.

Karaismailoğlu said, “With its key role in both international and domestic transportation activities, it has a vital function as the capillary of the logistics system” and continued his speech as follows:

“The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, which provides a high quality, uninterrupted, comfortable and safe service at the highest level, is adorned with innovative values, and is the pioneer of equal, balanced and sustainable development moves, has implemented investments that enable effective road transportation for all our citizens. With the strength we derive from our nation, which has never lost its favor with us, Turkey's breakthrough in the last 20 years has visibly embodied in every field. As always, we are working like ants to leave a better future, a stronger and bigger Turkey to our youth with the love of Turkey.”

TURKEY; WE TURNED IT INTO AN INTERNATIONAL CORRIDOR IN EVERY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION

Karaismailoğlu stated that they have invested over 20 trillion 100 billion liras in Turkey's transportation and communication infrastructure since 2003, while the need for 1 years of investment was met in 670 years during the AK Party government. He noted that they have transformed it into an international corridor in every mode of transportation. Karaismailoğlu said, “We have successfully completed mega highway projects such as Eurasia Tunnel, Ankara-Niğde Highway, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and Northern Marmara Highway, Osmangazi Bridge and Istanbul-İzmir Highway, 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Malkara-Çanakkale Highway and put them into service of our nation. We increased our divided road length from 6 thousand kilometers to over 28 thousand 700 kilometers. By making the speed of transportation on our roads safe and comfortable, we removed all obstacles to traffic and mobility. We crossed impenetrable mountains with tunnels, valleys with bridges. We increased the tunnel length on our highways more than 13 times to 664 kilometers. We have made transportation on our roads fast, safe and comfortable. Although the number of vehicles, which was about 20 million 8 years ago, has increased to 26 million today, we have reduced traffic accident rates and loss of life by 82 percent with the divided road network we have today. We have increased the quality of transportation with our comfortable and safe roads.

TURKEY IS NOW LEFT BEHIND THE PERIOD WHERE THE INVESTMENTS ARE MADE WITH THE SPEED OF THE CAR

Emphasizing that they have set their highway targets until 2053 by saying "don't stop, keep going", Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “In the next 30 years; We aimed to increase our divided road length to over 38 thousand kilometers and to increase the highway length to 8 thousand 300 kilometers. As our Ministry, we make a great effort to bring Turkey together with innovations that are beyond the age. With the confidence of fulfilling what we promised for 20 years, we continue our work and investments that others cannot even dream of. Turkey has left behind the period when investments were made at the speed of an oxcart. Our country has become one of the main playmakers not only in its region, but also in the global plan, with the investments it has made, growing in every field, realizing projects that are more important than the other. With the projects we do, we support employment, trade and economy, we almost do not fit in our container”.

Expressing that they are proud of continuing to serve the homeland and the nation on the prosperous road opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by saying "The Road is Civilization", Karaismailoğlu said that they made every corner of Turkey accessible with thousands of kilometers of roads, bridges and viaducts made with the road map they determined every year.

WE INVESTED OVER 20.3 BILLION LIRA IN GAZIANTEP'S TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu emphasized that Antep, which was crowned with the title of “Gazi” by the Supreme Assembly with its glorious struggle against the enemy in the War of Independence, is one of the most exceptional cities in Turkey, and said, “There is no doubt that Gaziantep is the apple of our eye today. Gaziantep, which is among our leading cities in terms of export volume, has become one of the fastest players in the patent league thanks to the branding and R&D projects it has implemented in the last 20 years, especially by signing very important projects in the field of innovation. It is our duty to carry Gaziantep, which is of such importance to our country's economy, even further with its transportation and communication infrastructure. At this point, we have invested over 20 billion 20 million liras in Gaziantep's transportation and communication infrastructure in the last 305 years. In 2003, there were 116 kilometers of divided roads, we increased it to 433 kilometers. Today, with a project cost of approximately 4 billion liras, there are 14 projects such as Gaziantep-Nizip-Birecik Road, Nizip-Karkamış Road, Islahiye-Hassa-Kırıkhan Road, Kahramanmaraş-Narlı-Gaziantep Road, Osmaniye-Nurdağı Road, Kahramanmaraş-Nurdağı Road, Gaziantep-Kilis Road. We continue to work on a separate highway route and project," he said.

WE WILL SAVE A TOTAL OF 115 MILLION TL ANNUALLY

Pointing out that the current Nurdağı-Gaziantep road is one of the main arteries for heavy vehicle traffic to reach Mersin and Iskenderun Ports, Karaismailoğlu said that for this reason, the road was designed as a 54-kilometer long, 2×2 lane, bituminous hot mix coated divided road standard and they started the construction work. Pointing out that the Nurdağı-Gaziantep State Highway will be completed and put into service, a much safer, more comfortable and faster access opportunity will be established, Karaismailoğlu said, “We will maximize traffic safety. We will ease the traffic density by ensuring a more balanced distribution of transportation between the highway and the state road, which provides transportation services in the region. We will reduce the route, which currently takes up to 60 minutes, to 30 minutes. Thanks to the way we do, we will save 68 million TL from time and 47 million TL from fuel, totaling 115 million TL annually. We will also reduce carbon emissions by 9 thousand 586 tons. Every new road built, like rivers, adds life to the employment, production, trade, culture and art of the places they pass through. Safe, fast and easy transportation; It is the most important component of trade, production and export. Because being at the right time, in the right place, with the right amount is the golden rule of trade. At this point, we will make a significant contribution to the growth of the economy in the region by increasing Gaziantep's ability to reach both domestic and foreign markets with our new road, which we have designed as a divided road.”
