ESTRAM, which is the heart of public transportation in Eskişehir with thousands of passengers it carries every day, has set a new record in its 24th year by carrying more than 2004 million passengers since its inception on 600 December 18.

Eskişehir Light Rail System Enterprise (ESTRAM), which was put into operation and started service on December 24, 2004, has carried more than 2004 million passengers in 18 years and set an important record by working for the accessible, comfortable and safe transportation of Eskişehir residents since 600.

The Eskişehir light rail system, which was built in 3 stages and reached a length of 55 km, covered the city with iron nets, while the trams made 43,5 million trips in the city with a distance of 5 million kilometers. Carrying more than 600 million passengers, ESTRAM continues to be shown as an example by receiving invitations to many fairs and congresses in Turkey and Europe with its working principle and smooth operation.

Stating that ESTRAM has continued to serve for 18 years with the appreciation and support of the people of Eskişehir, ESTRAM Transportation AŞ General Manager Hakan Murat Bayındır said, “Our esteemed President Prof. Dr. With the vision of Yılmaz Büyükerşen, as ESTRAM, we work to ensure that our citizens can reunite with their loved ones in a comfortable and safe way. As ESTRAM, we launched our tram project on 24 December 2004 within the framework of the Transportation Master Plan prepared by our Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality. Since the day we started service, our trams have made 18 million trips in 5 years and have carried more than 600 million passengers in total until today. We are happy to have renewed the infrastructure and devices of the Electronic Fare Collection System, together with the innovations we have realized with our 18 years of experience. Free wifi, updated mobile application, QR ticket, 2-3-4-5 boarding tickets, contactless debit and credit cards of banks are offered to citizens as alternative payment options. In addition to these, we also organized events on special days with social studies. We hosted our students, local and foreign guests who want to see and get to know the system at our facilities. We continued to share our experience and knowledge at the fairs and congresses we were invited to. With its sustainable and environmentalist structure, ESTRAM will continue to provide the best service to our citizens by protecting the environment and air of Eskişehir, as it has been since 2004.” he said.
