Eskişehir Governorship Banned All Events for 15 Days

Eskişehir Governor's Office announced on its website that all kinds of activities are banned for 15 days. Accordingly, all events, except May 19 ceremonies and political party activities, will be banned between May 10 and 25.

The written statement is as follows:

“By ensuring that our citizens can fully and safely use their rights and freedoms arising from international conventions on fundamental rights and freedoms, the Turkish Constitution and laws, ensuring peace, public order and public security in our city, preventing crime, protecting the rights and freedoms of others and general security. in order to prevent the spread of violence;

Celebrations to be held on 5442 May 11 throughout our province (including Gendarmerie Responsibility Areas) in accordance with clauses (a) and (c) of Article 2911 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 17 and provisions of Articles 19 and 19 of the Law No. 2022 on Meetings and Demonstrations, All kinds of activities (walking, sit-ins, setting up stands/tents, hanging posters/banners, concerts, festivities, festivals, etc.) With the decision of the Governorship of Eskişehir, dated 09.05.2022 and numbered 316, it is PROHIBITED for (10.05.2022) days from 00.01 at 24.05.2022 to 24.00 at 15.”

It was also reported that Anadolu Fest, which is planned to be the first major music festival to be held in Eskişehir during the pandemic process, cannot be held after the ban decision. 12 musicians such as Levent Yüksel, Haluk Levent, Sagopa Kajmer and Teoman will attend the festival, which is planned to start on Wednesday, May 15 and end on Sunday, May 28.
