The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has opened the fourth branch of IZMAR markets, which it has put into practice to provide a breather for citizens struggling with difficult economic conditions, in Bornova Çamdibi. Bringing together Izmir residents with healthy and safe shopping at affordable prices and attracting great attention since the day it was put into service, IZMAR makes a significant contribution to the budget of the neighborhood residents.
A new one has been added to the İZMAR (İzmir Tanzim Satış Piyasasi) branches that the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality offers to citizens to buy healthy and quality products at affordable prices. Established on Yıldırım Beyazıt Street in Bornova Çamdibi, İZMAR opened its doors with great interest from citizens. In İZMAR stores, which sell a wide range of products without any profit, milk and dairy products produced by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, meat and meat products, Halk Ekmek and Şaşal Water, Badem Water and İzmir Water are delivered to the consumer under one roof at affordable prices.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Dr. Zafer Levent Yıldır also shopped at İZMAR, which enables citizens to meet their basic needs safely and at affordable prices. İZMAR Markets Unit Manager Peri Tosun Karagöz said that they have received very positive feedback from the stores they have opened so far. Stating that citizens are very satisfied, Peri Tosun Karagöz said, “We are going through a period when the economy is bad. Citizens are buying products at rates that are 20-30 percent below the market. They are very satisfied with our products.”

Arife Çoban, who shopped at the store, also stated that she was very pleased and said, “We came running to shop at more affordable prices. The prices are good. 50 TL, 100 TL are big money for us. That is why this market will be beneficial for us.”
Dursun Keskin also stated that everything is very expensive in the market and that he works two jobs to make ends meet, and said, “We can’t buy anything. We get into trouble. Sometimes I work two jobs but most of the time I can’t make ends meet. The prices here are good. They change the prices in the markets all the time. We can’t find the same price in the morning that we bought in the evening. That’s why I came here. The cleanliness of this place is also good.”

The number of IZMAR stores is increasing
The markets, which are operated by İZTARIM AŞ, a subsidiary of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, and contribute to the household economy of citizens who have financial difficulties under difficult economic conditions, were recently put into service in Karabağlar Bozyaka, Menemen Ulukent and Gaziemir.
In the upcoming period, Bornova Doğanlar, Kemeraltı Balıkçılar and Karşıyaka New İZMAR branches will be opened in Kyrenia. After that, İZMARs are planned to be opened in Buca and Gültepe districts.
