
Alstom, the global leader in smart and sustainable mobility solutions, and Akiem, Europe’s leading rail vehicle rental company, have signed two strategic agreements for the maintenance and signaling technologies of Traxx locomotives. These agreements further strengthen the long-standing and successful cooperation between Alstom and Akiem.
Five-Year Material Agreement for Spare Parts Supply
The first contract signed, A Material Supply Agreement covering the supply of spare parts for 116 Traxx locomotives in Akiem's fleet The agreement will start with the supply of approximately 200 different spare parts per year, covering a period of five years. Alstom and Akiem will jointly review the types and quantities of products to be supplied on a regular basis and provide a flexible structure by adjusting them as necessary. This agreement will enable Akiem to create a sustainable supply chain to meet the maintenance needs of Traxx locomotives.
Comprehensive Service Contract for Onboard Signaling Technology
The second contract is for the Traxx locomotives manufactured by Alstom and installed on the Akiem fleet Supply and services for onboard signalling technology This agreement is quite comprehensive and includes remote and on-site support, repair work on faulty components and short-term replacement of faulty key components This will ensure the smooth operation of signalling systems on Akiem's locomotives and minimise operational interruptions.

With the signing of these contracts, Alstom and Akiem have added two new chapters to their long-standing and successful partnership. The contracted services make a decisive contribution to ensuring the smooth operation of the existing Traxx locomotive fleet, both in terms of rolling stock and onboard signalling technology.
