Traffic Awareness is Instilled in Children in Kars

Under the coordination of Kars Governorship, traffic training was carried out for primary school students by Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams.

Within the scope of the training activities; Gendarmerie traffic teams came together with the students of Selim Yamaçlı Village Şehit Ali Bay Primary School, Büyükdere Village Şehit Ahmet Keleş Primary School and Merkez Güdeli Village Primary School and gave the children both theoretical and practical information about basic traffic rules.

The content of the trainings was listed as follows: “Rules to be considered while riding a bicycle, traffic rules to be followed at pedestrian and school crossings, traffic signs frequently encountered on battery-powered vehicles and the importance of seat belts, points to be considered by vehicles and pedestrians when using traffic lights, the importance of using helmets, gloves, knee pads, elbow pads and reflective vests while riding a bicycle, basic traffic definitions and traffic signs, traffic safety awareness, general rules to be followed in school buses and public transportation vehicles.”

During the event, children were asked questions to raise awareness about traffic, and some topics were explained practically through simulations. Authorities stated that similar trainings will continue in the future.

Kars Governorship emphasized that raising traffic awareness in children at an early age will contribute to the goal of creating a safer traffic environment in the future.
