Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç announced that the “Pay As You Go” application will be put into effect on the rail system on Monday, June 2. Mayor Büyükkılıç wished the application to be beneficial and said, “With this system, full card users will pay according to the distance they use. Up to 15 percent refund will be provided for short-distance journeys.”

Büyükkılıç noted that with this application, Kayseri has taken another important step in the field of smart urbanism, and said, “We anticipate that the new model will meet the expectations of our citizens who use public transportation in Kayseri and will initiate a transformation that will contribute to the transportation culture in the city.”
Refunds are reflected on the card instantly
Within the scope of the application, the refund amount determined according to the distance will be instantly transferred to the cards of the passengers who scan their transportation cards on the refund devices at the station exits after the journey.

Kayseri currently offers advantageous transportation tariffs such as student and teacher discounts and subscription cards. With the new system, full card users also have the opportunity to benefit from these advantageous tariffs.
With the work carried out by Kayseri Ulaşım A.Ş., the infrastructure work was completed at all 75 stations in the rail system and the system was put into operation. The application works in integration with Kayseri's Intelligent Transportation Systems (IUS) infrastructure.
