An agreement was reached in the collective bargaining negotiations between İZDENİZ AŞ and the Turkish Seafarers Union affiliated with Türk-İş. As a result of the negotiations that lasted 4 months, the employees of İZDENİZ, a company that provides sea transportation in İzmir, were given a 1 percent raise effective from January 2025, 30. The collective bargaining agreement was signed by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay and Turkish Seafarers Union General President İrfan Mete.
“Standard in collective agreements”
Expressing his happiness after the signing, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay reminded that a 4 percent raise rate was also accepted for 2025 in the contract signed between İzelman AŞ and İzenerji AŞ and DİSK Genel İş on June 30, and said, “I believe that we have displayed a stability and consistent stance in this direction by maintaining the raise rate in the contracts of our İzelman and İzenerji companies in the contract we made with İZDENİZ. As the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, we evaluate the rights of our workers and the financial discipline of the institution as a whole. In this sense, I think we have achieved a standard and have adopted a line that has not been seen before in collective labor agreements. May our collective agreement be beneficial to our laborer brothers and all people of İzmir.”
