Surprising Claim About GTA 6

A bombshell claim has been made about Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated game, Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). It has been claimed that Rockstar co-founder and key writer of the series, Dan Houser, known for the game’s strong stories and unforgettable characters, prepared multiple scenarios for GTA 6, but none of them were realized. This claim brings new questions to mind about the complexity of the game’s long development process.

Dan Houser Allegedly Wrote Three Different Storyboards for GTA 6

Dan Houser, the narrative backbone of the Grand Theft Auto series, allegedly worked on three separate story drafts for GTA 6, but they were cancelled for various reasons, according to a new report:

  1. First Draft (2014): This scenario centers on three main characters, like in GTA V. The story is led by dark and complex characters such as a dirty cop, a troubled son, and the right-hand man of a Colombian drug lord. However, it is not stated why this plan did not proceed.

  2. Second Draft (2018): This idea, which emerged four years later, centered on a female police character seeking revenge. It was planned for this female police officer to infiltrate the underworld to solve her mother’s death. A “crazy drug dealer” was considered as the supporting character of the story. However, this scenario was also canceled in 2018.

  3. Third Draft (Next Term): The final story draft once again centered on a female police officer and a former soldier. However, it was alleged that due to Dan Houser's exhaustion and the constant cancellation of previous projects, this script also did not progress enough and was shelved.

Ideas Overshadowed by Long Development Process

While these claims are not necessarily true, there's a strong possibility that many different ideas have been tabled and discarded, given the long and complicated development process that GTA 6 has undergone to date. Rockstar Games' tradition of creating large-scale and detailed worlds for each of its games could make it logical to try multiple scenarios.

According to current estimates, GTA 6 is thought to tell a very different story from these drafts left by Dan Houser. Houser was considered Rockstar's creative engine for many years, and when he left the company in 2020, many questions were raised about the future of the GTA series. It is also a matter of curiosity how his departure affected the game's story development.

GTA 6's Scheduled to be released in 2026 and Rockstar Games aims to offer players another ambitious open-world experience. However, we may never fully learn which ideas were lost to history, which ones left their mark on the game, and how different the final story was. Such leaks and claims further increase the anticipation that will continue until the game's release.
