Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, which was deemed worthy of duty at the Disaster Workshop organized by the Union of Turkish Municipalities, took part in the Türkiye Disaster Commission, which was formed with the participation of representatives from 30 metropolitan cities and 51 cities.
Dr. Yunus Vuran, Head of Disaster Affairs Department of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, was elected as a member of the commission established to standardize disaster management throughout Türkiye.
The Commission has started to prepare a uniform regulation for a more effective and coordinated fight against disasters. In this context, it is aimed to increase cooperation between cities, strengthen the reflexes of local governments in times of disaster and create a common application ground.
In addition, in line with the decision taken at the workshop, it was decided that the next Disaster Commission meeting would be held in Şanlıurfa.
