ASKİ General Directorate is renewing the 35-year-old infrastructure of the Karacaören Industrial Site in the Altındağ district. Renewal works continue for 8 kilometers of drinking water network lines, approximately 5 kilometers of wastewater (sewerage) and 3 kilometers of rainwater lines in the region.
ASKİ General Directorate, which has solved all drinking water and infrastructure problems of the capital Ankara by putting them on its agenda within the scope of a certain program, has recently taken action on the Karacaören Industrial Site located in the Altındağ district.
ASKİ General Directorate is renewing the collapsed infrastructure of the Karacaören Industrial Site, which started operating between 1985 and 1990, by making a huge investment of 77 million 488 thousand liras.
“PHYSICAL WATER LEAKS WILL ALSO BE PREVENTED”
ASKİ Deputy General Manager Mehmet Mert, together with his technical team, inspected the ongoing works at the Karacaören Industrial Site on site. Providing information about the works, Mert stated that the wastewater and rainwater lines in the region have now completed their economic life, and that collapses are especially experienced at the wastewater chimney inlets and outlets. Mert, who stated that the drinking water pipes break down very frequently because they are galvanized pipes, said that the renewal of the 8-kilometer drinking water line will also prevent physical water losses and leaks in the network. Mert said, “Subscriber connections are also being changed as part of the renewal works. Within the scope of the project work carried out by our technical units, we are renewing 5 meters of wastewater line and 200 meters of rainwater line in addition to the drinking water line.”
INFRASTRUCTURE THANKS TO PRESIDENT MANSUR YAVAŞ
Karacaören Industrial Site President Ömer İpek spoke about the work carried out by 3 teams at 3 different points on the site as follows:
“After the 35-year-old infrastructure of our Karacaören Industrial Site completely collapsed, our Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has initiated infrastructure renewal works. Our rainwater, sewage and clean water lines are being completely renewed. I would like to thank our Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Mansur Yavaş for this investment with a serious cost. I would like to thank him endlessly for his interest and concern for our industry. With this work, our infrastructure problem will be completely eliminated in the next 35-40 years. Hopefully, with the laying of the new asphalt, we will be offering a renewed Karacaören Industrial Site to the service of Ankara. I would like to thank and respect all of our team members, especially our ASKİ General Manager Memduh Aslan Akçay.”
