Melodious Roads Have Started in Türkiye: Mehter March Is Next

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu reminded that the Melodili Yol application was first implemented on the Nallıhan-Beypazarı State Road and the Ankara Eskişehir State Road. Minister Uraloğlu said, “In both applications we have implemented, Mozart’s Turkish March is playing, and the Mehter March is next.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that they offered a pleasant driving experience with the Melodili Yol project implemented by the General Directorate of Highways. He reminded that they first started implementing the musical road on the 21st kilometer of the Nallıhan-Beypazarı State Road, and then on the 37th kilometer of the Sivrihisar Exit of the Ankara Eskişehir State Road.

Next Melody: Mehter March

Minister Uraloğlu said, “We are offering drivers a musical journey with the melodic road application. In both applications we have implemented, Mozart’s Turkish March is playing, and the Mehter March is next. When the driver travels at a constant speed of 100 kilometers per hour, the vibrations and sounds that are produced are transformed into a melody thanks to the application of double-component road line paint to the road surface.”

Constant Speed and Physical Properties of the Road are Important

Uraloğlu stated that certain technical criteria must be met in order for the melody road system to yield the best results. Uraloğlu said, “In order for the melody road application to yield the best results, it must be done on roads where vehicles can travel at a constant speed of 100 kilometers per hour, where the road is flat, where there are no superstructure defects and where there is a smooth coating. It is important that the melody road application is done on roads with the lowest possible traffic volume, especially where heavy vehicle traffic is low, so that it does not lose its feature by wearing out in a short time and the melody can be heard most clearly.”
