
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department has undertaken another important training program to strengthen international solidarity in combating disasters and to share its knowledge with the world.
The “Forest Fire Intervention Training”, which was carried out in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, in partnership with the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), was successfully completed by the expert trainers of the Konya Fire Department.
Within the scope of the program, which included a total of 31 people consisting of Colombian firefighting personnel, civil defense teams and volunteers, the participants were given both theoretical and practical training such as fire behavior and intervention techniques, heat transfer and flammable material analysis, lane opening and counter-firing practices, use of personal protective equipment, field exercises and test applications.
At the certificate ceremony held at the end of the training program, Türkiye's Ambassador to Bogota Beste Pehlivan Sun and TİKA officials presented certificates to the trained Colombian firefighters.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality will continue its efforts to create disaster-resilient societies through information sharing and international collaborations.
