
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that they brought forward the monthly payments for the elderly and disabled for June due to the Eid al-Adha and announced that approximately 6 billion 300 million liras had been deposited into accounts.
Minister Göktaş shared the details following the good news given by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after yesterday's cabinet meeting that the payment of pensions for the elderly and disabled would be brought forward.
Minister Göktaş stated that approximately 1 million 350 thousand citizens will be paid disability and old age pensions, and said, “In this context, we have deposited 3 billion 506 million liras worth of old age pension and 2 billion 769 million liras worth of disability pension into the accounts of beneficiaries.”
Göktaş stated that as a ministry, they have developed comprehensive and regular social assistance programs for disabled and elderly citizens, and noted the following:
“We support our disabled and elderly citizens in every field from education to health, economy to social life so that they can live independently with full and effective participation in social life. In this direction, we brought forward the payment of old age pension and disability pension for June due to Eid al-Adha and deposited them into accounts. Thus, we have made a payment of approximately 6 billion 300 million liras. I hope that the payments will be beneficial to all our citizens.”
