Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is building a pedestrian tunnel at the Dokuz Eylül University Hospital Station exit of the Izmir Metro, which has heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic, to facilitate access to the hospital.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, considering the demands from the citizens, is reorganizing the Dokuz Eylül University Hospital Station exit of Izmir Metro. In this context, transportation to the hospital, where vehicle and pedestrian traffic is intense, will be easier thanks to the pedestrian tunnel that has been built.
The work is nearing completion
As part of the work that is in its final stages, an entrance and exit point with escalators and elevators is being created in the hospital garden. The station and the hospital are being connected by building an underground pedestrian tunnel. Citizens will be able to have safe access between the station and the hospital without being exposed to vehicle traffic and outdoor conditions. The tunnel will be completed in the summer months.
