Samsun Metropolitan Municipality has launched a comprehensive pest control campaign throughout the city. The pest control activities, which are carried out especially in children's parks and green areas where citizens frequently spend time, are of great importance in terms of protecting public health throughout the city.
In this context, the metropolitan municipality is carrying out intensive pest control work in four central districts against the risk of tick reproduction and spread. A total of 25 teams were assigned and comprehensive pest control operations were carried out in 327 children's parks, as well as in social areas frequently used by the public such as the East Park, West Park and the National Garden.
Municipality teams emphasized the importance of taking precautions both as an institution and at individual levels, reminding that ticks are carried by animals, especially in green areas, and can infect people and cause health problems through bites.
The teams stated that citizens should report ticks to the municipality if they encounter them in public areas.
