IMM has completed all its preparations by taking all precautions before the Eid al-Adha, which will be celebrated between June 06-09. In addition to the precautions taken and preparations made, work will continue during and after the Eid. The cleaning work in the sacrificial areas comes first among these works. The teams, which started cleaning from the early hours of the morning on the first day of the Eid, continue their cleaning work in shifts at IMM's Sacrificial Sales and Slaughtering Facilities.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has completed its preparations ahead of Eid al-Adha to ensure that Istanbulites have a problem-free holiday. In addition to these efforts, it also carries out cleaning activities in its own facilities to prevent any problems, especially regarding hygiene, before, during and after the holiday. Hygiene teams continue to work in shifts at IMM’s 4 modern sacrificial animal sales and slaughtering facilities throughout the holiday.
PRE-HOLIDAYS CLEANING PREPARATIONS
- After the Communiqué on the Implementation of 2025 Sacrifice Services was published by the IMM Waste Management Branch Directorate, the dates on which the sacrifice wastes would be accepted were communicated to the relevant units of IMM and 39 district municipalities.
- A separate section was created in our Silivri Seymen and Şile Kömürcüoda Regular Storage Areas to accept waste from the Eid al-Adha holiday.
- There is also a medical waste vehicle on the European and Asian sides for animals that may be sick.
Besides;
- In 1 sacrificial animal sales and slaughtering facility on the European side (Alibeyköy, approximately 28 thousand square meters),
- The cleaning works, which started on May 3, 149, in 500 sacrificial animal sales and slaughtering facilities on the Asian side (Sancaktepe-Ataşehir-Pendik, approximately 12 thousand 2025 square meters in total), will continue until June 15, 2025 and will be carried out in 4 stages.
CLEANING PROGRAM TO BE CARRIED OUT IN 4 STAGES
- STAGE 1: Between 12-21 May 2025 until the sacrificial animals are brought to the field 1 shift cleaning (07.00-15.00),
- STAGE 2: Between May 22 and June 05, 2025 during the sacrificial animal sales period Cleaning is done in 2 shifts (Morning 07.00-15.00 – Break 15.00-23.00),
- STAGE 3: Between 06-09 June 2025 during the sacrifice Cleaning will be done in 3 shifts (Morning 07.00-15.00 – Break 15.00-23.00 – Night 23.00-07.00),
- STAGE 4: Between 10-15 June 2025 With the evacuation of sacrificial areas General cleaning will be done in 1 shift (07:00-15:00).
95 PERSONNEL WILL CLEAN IN ONE SHIFT EVERY DAY DURING THE HOLIDAY
Cleaning works will continue throughout the holiday in 4 modern sacrificial animal sales and slaughtering facilities of IMM. 20 cleaning personnel will work with 95 vehicles in a single shift per day. These works will be carried out in 229 Sacrificial Animal Sales (Paddock) and 11 Slaughterhouses located within the facilities.
- In Eyüpsultan Alibeyköy Sacrifice Sales and Slaughtering Facility, 1 vehicles, 4 personnel in 20 shift,
- In Sancaktepe Paşaköy Sacrifice Sales and Slaughtering Facility, 1 vehicles, 5 personnel in 24 shift,
- At Ataşehir Ferhatpaşa Sacrifice Sales and Slaughtering Facility, 1 vehicles, 5 personnel in 24 shift,
- Pendik Kurnaköy Sacrifice Sales and Slaughtering Facility has 1 vehicles and 6 personnel working in 27 shift.
AFTER HOLIDAY WORKS
With the end of Eid al-Adha, cleaning teams will once again clean the areas completely. The work to be carried out in 10 facilities of IMM between June 15-4 will be carried out with 14 vehicles and 66 personnel in a single shift per day.
