
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 18 suspected terrorist organization members were captured in operations conducted against the DAESH terrorist organization in 39 provinces.
Interior Minister Yerlikaya announced that 18 suspected terrorist organization members were caught in operations conducted by the gendarmerie against the DAESH terrorist organization in 2 provinces in the last 39 weeks.
Minister Yerlikaya, who provided information about the operations carried out as a result of the work carried out by the Provincial Gendarmerie Commands under the coordination of the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor and the TEM Department of the Gendarmerie General Command, stated the following:
“The suspects caught in operations conducted in Adana, Bursa, Çankırı, Çorum, Denizli, Eskişehir, Hatay, İstanbul, Kahramanmaraş, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Kilis, Kocaeli, Osmaniye, Sakarya, Samsun, Şanlıurfa and Tekirdağ were found to be members of the ISIS terrorist organization, to have provided finance to so-called aid organizations affiliated with the terrorist organization and to have made terrorist organization propaganda through their social media accounts. As a result of the operations, numerous organizational documents and digital materials were seized.”
Minister Yerlikaya stated that unity and solidarity against terrorism are the greatest assets and said, “We continue our operations uninterruptedly to ensure the peace and security of our people. I congratulate our governors, our chief public prosecutors who coordinate the operations, our provincial gendarmerie commanders who carry out the operations and our heroic gendarmerie.”
