IMM Fights Against Plane Tree Cancer

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is pruning the tops of trees infected with sycamore cancer on Dolmabahçe Avenue, Çırağan Avenue, Bebek Park and the surrounding areas to eliminate the risk of them falling over. The work will start on Çırağan Avenue as of Monday, June 16.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) is starting to take care of trees infected with Plane Cancer. In line with the decision of the Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Provincial Directorate Istanbul 4th Natural Assets Protection Regional Commission; dry branches will be pruned for trees that have dried up due to the fungal disease called Plane Cancer, and pruning paste will be applied to the pruned surfaces. Required tree crown reduction operations will also be carried out. Thus, the possibility of undesirable results such as falling over, breaking, etc. will be eliminated.

STARTS ON JUNE 16

The works will be carried out under the supervision of Forest Engineers, with the necessary safety measures taken. Pruning and maintenance works will continue starting on Monday, June 16th on Çırağan Street.
