Big Blow to Drug Manufacturers in Istanbul

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that operations against drug manufacturers were carried out in the Arnavutköy and Fatih districts of Istanbul. 2 million 535 thousand 680 narcotic pills announced that they were seized. As a result of the operations, 3 suspected drug manufacturers were caught.

Detailed Operation and Seized Materials

These operations, which were carried out under the coordination of the Istanbul and Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the General Directorate of Security's Narcotics Crime Prevention Department, were carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Narcotics Crime Prevention Branch Directorate and the Fatih and Arnavutköy District Police Departments. In two separate raids on a workplace and a drug manufacturing facility in the Arnavutköy and Fatih districts, the following materials were seized:

  • 2 million 535 thousand 680 Narcotic Pills
  • 266 kg of chemical additives used in the production of narcotics
  • 810 thousand empty capsules
  • 7 electronic devices and machines used in the production of narcotic pills

Minister Yerlikaya congratulated the Istanbul and Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices who coordinated the operation, as well as the Istanbul Governor, Istanbul Provincial Police Chief and all the heroic police officers who carried out the operation.

Minister Yerlikaya, emphasizing that the fight against drugs is not only a security issue but also of vital importance for the future of the country, said, “We are on every street, every avenue, every corner! We do not allow drug dealers to open their eyes. We do not and will not allow them to darken the future of our children,” and gave the message that the fight against drugs will continue with determination.

This successful operation once again demonstrated how effective the fight against drug production and trafficking is.
