Plasser Australia is delivering five customised rail machines for the Australian Rail Infrastructure Corporation (ARTC), which aims to modernise track maintenance and improve efficiency across Australia’s national rail network. This strategic delivery strengthens ARTC's commitment to operational excellence and aims to deliver more reliable rail services.
Delivered Machines and Their Features
The scope of delivery includes high-tech machines that will revolutionise rail maintenance:
- TDX101 (09-3X Dynamic High Speed Tamper): Designed specifically for Australia’s harsh conditions, this high-speed tamper will revolutionise rail compaction.
- BX101 (SSP305 High Performance Ballast Regulator): Working with the TDX101, it will provide maximum efficiency in ballast regulation.
ARTC will also add the following machines to its fleet:
- TDX102 (09-2X (4×4)4S Unimat): A versatile machine designed for both straight rail and scissor compression.
- BX102 (SSP303 Ballast Regulator): Paired with TDX102, it will optimize compositing performance.
- BX100 (Additional SSP305 Regulator): It will work with the previously deployed TDX100 unit to increase maintenance capacity.
“We are not just renewing our fleet, we are transforming the way we maintain our network,” said Clinton Crump, ARTC Group Operations Manager, adding that the TDX101’s arrival represents a major leap forward. Crump emphasized that these upgrades will deliver faster, more consistent results and increase network reliability.
Plasser Australia: New Standards in Rail Technology
Nathan Stevens, Sales and Marketing Manager for Plasser Australia, said these machines are the first to be introduced to the Australian market so far. the most advanced machines Noting that more than 100.000 hours were invested in the design and production of the machines, Stevens said these new technologies raise the bar in terms of performance, safety and compatibility, and demonstrate their company's strong commitment to rail innovation and durability.
Transforming Rail Maintenance with ARTC and Plasser Australia Collaboration
This collaboration is an important step for ARTC smarter, faster and more durable rail maintenance strategies With support from Plasser Australia, ARTC is set to improve service delivery across the country. These new technologies will enable more reliable operations and minimise disruption, benefiting both rail operators and passengers across the network.
The remaining units are scheduled to arrive later this year and support broader network coverage.
