Applications have started for the Respect for History Local Protection Awards, which have become a symbol of sensitivity towards cultural heritage in Izmir and organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. The Respect for History Local Protection Awards will find their owners for the 21st time this year. The competition is open to all works related to Izmir that protect, preserve and keep alive its historical heritage and contribute and work in this field; applications will be accepted in the categories of “Life in Historical Structures”, “Keeping Traditional Crafts Alive in Historical Places”, “Simple Repair”, “Essential Repair”, “Labor”, “Contribution to the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Assets” and “Honoring Educational Projects Protecting Its History”.
