Applications have begun for the Respect for History Local Protection Awards, organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to protect and repair historical structures in the city and to create urban and local awareness. Applications have started for the Respect for History Local Protection Awards, which have become a symbol of sensitivity towards cultural heritage in Izmir and organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. The Respect for History Local Protection Awards will find their owners for the 21st time this year. The competition is open to all works related to Izmir that protect, preserve and keep alive its historical heritage and contribute and work in this field; applications will be accepted in the categories of “Life in Historical Structures”, “Keeping Traditional Crafts Alive in Historical Places”, “Simple Repair”, “Essential Repair”, “Labor”, “Contribution to the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Assets” and “Honoring Educational Projects Protecting Its History”.

Applications can be made until the end of business hours on Friday, October 3, 2025. All applications made within the borders of Izmir province will be evaluated.
