
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that Afyon sausage received geographical indication registration from the European Union (EU).
Minister Yumaklı made an evaluation on the issue.
Yumaklı, stating that the 35th product to receive geographical indication registration from the EU is Afyon sausage, said, “Another delicious signature from Afyonkarahisar to the EU. After Afyon pastrami, now Afyon sausage has become our product to receive geographical indication registration from the EU. We thank our producer and everyone who contributed, and we share this pride together.”
Türkiye's products that have received geographical indication registration from the EU are as follows:
“Gaziantep baklava, Aydın fig, Malatya apricot, Aydın chestnut, Milas olive oil, Bayramiç white, Taşköprü garlic, Giresun plump hazelnut, Antakya kunefe, Suruç pomegranate, Çağlayancerit walnut, Gemlik olive, Edremit olive oil, Milas oily olive, Ayaş tomato, Maraş tarhana, Edremit Gulf green scratched olive, Ezine cheese, Safranbolu saffron, Aydın memecik olive oil, Araban garlic, Osmaniye peanut, Bingöl honey, Bursa peach, Hüyük strawberry, Bursa black fig, Söke cotton, Manisa mesir paste, Gaziantep terebinth coffee, Silifke yogurt, Aydın memecik olive, Erzincan tulum cheese, Aydın pine nut, Afyon pastrami, Afyon sausage.”
