A Meaningful Dive into the 186th Anniversary Celebration from the Izmir Gendarmerie

Underwater Search and Rescue (SAK) teams affiliated with the Izmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command celebrated the 186th anniversary of the Gendarmerie Organization with a meaningful banner they opened underwater off the coast of Karaburun. For this special celebration, divers from the gendarmerie dived onto the 2016 Eylül ferry, which was sunk in 9 to create an artificial reef.

“Army of Law Gendarmerie is 30 Years Old” at a Depth of 186 Meters

At the nose of the ferry, which is at a depth of about 30 meters, there is a giant “The Army of Law Gendarmerie is 186 Years Old” A banner was opened that read: “I am a man of God.” In addition to this impressive moment, gendarmerie divers also observed a moment of silence by opening a Turkish flag and a portrait of Atatürk underwater.

The Gendarmerie Organization plays a critical role in ensuring public order and security with its deep-rooted history and the duties it undertakes all over the country. This meaningful celebration of the Underwater Search and Rescue teams once again demonstrated that the Gendarmerie is ready and equipped for its national duty not only on land but also underwater.
