
In the 63rd 'Historical Bush Wrestling' to be organized by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Nilüfer Municipality this year, approximately 40 wrestlers, 800 of whom are chief wrestlers, will compete for the golden belt in the arena.
Developing projects for Bursa to become a brand city in sports, the Metropolitan Municipality continues to support the survival of ancestral sports. The 63rd Historical Çalı Wrestling, which will be hosted by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Nilüfer Municipality, will bring together thousands of oil wrestling enthusiasts on Sunday, June 29. Competing in 14 different categories such as head, head under, deck and tozkoparan, the athletes will compete fiercely to be ranked. In the wrestling competitions, where approximately 40 wrestlers, 800 of whom are head wrestlers, will tie kıspets and take to the field, head wrestlers such as Fatih Atlı, İsmail Balaban, Mehmet Yeşil Yeşil, Mustafa Taş, Orhan Okulu, Osman Aynur, Recep Kara and Yusuf Can Zeybek will also compete for the golden belt in Çalı.
Stating that they are working to raise the bar of Çalı wrestling, which will be held for the 63rd time this year, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey announced that Çalı Wrestling will be held in cooperation with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Nilüfer Municipality, just like last year. Stating that they will increase the quality of Çalı wrestling every year, Mayor Bozbey said, “Last year I said ‘We will make Çalı Wrestling the second Kırkpınar’. We are working in this direction and a more ambitious organization has been prepared this year. We want to make Çalı Wrestling at least equal to wrestling such as Elmalı and Kurtdereli. We will continue to protect our ancestral sport. I invite all wrestling fans to Çalı Wrestling on Sunday, June 29.”
