
Within the scope of the “Our Home Istanbul” project of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), 4.682 children experienced the joy of graduation today. Graduation ceremonies were held in the gardens of each Our Home Istanbul Children’s Activity Center for children who completed their preschool education. IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan participated in the ceremony at Gaziosmanpaşa Mevlana Our Home Istanbul and shared in the happiness of the children and families.
“Unlawful Captivity” and “Hope” Messages from Aslan
Speaking at the ceremony, IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan, the elected IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and stated that the elected Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Hakan Bahçetepe was “unlawfully held captive in Silivri.” Aslan said, “But we are not people who will despair. When we look into the eyes of each of our children who are with us here, we become even more hopeful. The love they feel for their uncle Ekrem and brother Hakan binds us even more tightly to the trust of Istanbul and Gaziosmanpaşa.”
Aslan said, “Those who say, ‘Are you going to rule Istanbul by opening nurseries?’ should come and see the success of our nurseries in Istanbul and the happiness of our children. That’s when they will be able to govern Istanbul.” Ekrem İmamoğluHe emphasized the importance of the project by saying, “They will see how ‘it’s won hearts.’

Elected Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğluThe “Our Home Istanbul Project”, which was implemented and disseminated by the principle of equal opportunities in education, produced the graduates of the 2024-2025 term. According to the information provided by Nuri Aslan:
- Throughout Istanbul 113 centers, 568 classrooms, 10.937 children capacity reached.
- In the past 4 years, from the centers 4.208 child graduated.
- This year, a total of 80 centers 4.682 child will graduate.
- Thus, the total number of graduates in 5 years 8.890 to It will reach.
Aslan stated that nurseries provide quality education opportunities for children and also protect household budgets by supporting mothers' participation in working life.
Dreams and Messages for the Future
Addressing the 78 children who graduated from the Gaziosmanpaşa Mevlana Children's Activity Center, Nuri Aslan said, "We are proud of our children. I wholeheartedly believe that all of them will be people who follow in the footsteps of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and who will be beneficial to our country and nation."
Aslan called on children not to give up on their dreams, saying, “This is the dream… One of the children here will become a minister in this country, one will become a president, one may become a prime minister, one will become an army commander, one will become a governor.” Giving examples from his own political experiences, Ekrem İmamoğluHe explained how his dreams came true and concluded his words by saying, "This is the dream, they all came true. I respectfully greet you all with the hope that the next dream will also come true."
Following his speech, Aslan distributed certificates and gift books to the 78 graduating children to read during their summer vacations. The program ended with a graduation souvenir photo taken with the children and their families.
