IETT (Istanbul Electric Tramway and Tunnel Operations) is one of the prestigious awards of the IT world. Received an award at the IDC CIO Excellence Awards 2025. Having a deep-rooted history of 154 years and carrying out approximately 5 million journeys per day, IETT has implemented an important project with the aim of increasing passenger safety and comfort by renewing its technological infrastructure.
Passenger Safety and Comfort Increased with Technological Transformation
Within the scope of the project, the IETT fleet The technological infrastructure of 1.260 buses has been completely renewed and new technological systems that work in integration with each other were integrated into the vehicles. With this transformation, a number of important features were gained:
- 360 Degree Viewing: Buses now have the ability to receive 24-degree interior and exterior views 360 hours a day.
- Instant and Retrospective Image Access: Thanks to NVR integration, the Fleet Management Center can easily access images instantly and retrospectively.
- Passenger Density Detection: Passenger counts are made in the vehicle and at the stop, and instant density information is transferred to the Fleet Management Center. In this way, additional trips can be planned if possible.
- High Power Charging Points: Travel comfort has been increased by creating high-power USB Type-C charging points for passengers.
- Full Integration: All technological systems in the vehicle can work in full integration with the ITS BOX (Intelligent Control Box).
