
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu carried out an intensive diplomatic traffic with the aim of strengthening Türkiye's strategic position in global transport corridors and increasing international cooperation. In telephone conversations with counterparts from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lithuania, Oman, Angola, Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, potential for cooperation in the field of global transport was discussed and an invitation was extended to the Global Transport Corridors Forum to be held in Istanbul on 27-29 June 2025.
Global Transportation Move from Uraloğlu
On Friday, May 9, 2025, Minister Uraloğlu held a series of telephone conversations with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jean Pierre Bemba Gombo, the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Lithuanian Republic, Eugenjius Sabutis, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Oman, Said bin Hamood Al Maawali, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Angola, Ricardo Daniel Viegas D'Abreu, the Minister of Transport and Communications of Bulgaria, Grozdan Karadzhov, the Minister of Transport and Communications of Azerbaijan, Rashad Nabiyev, and the Minister of Transport of Egypt, Kamel Al-Wazir. During these meetings, issues such as developing global transport corridors, strengthening regional connections and increasing international cooperation were discussed.
Invitation to the Istanbul Forum and Call for Collaboration
Minister Uraloğlu provided detailed information to his counterparts about the Global Transport Corridors Forum to be held in Istanbul on 27-29 June 2025. Uraloğlu made a comprehensive presentation on the aims of the forum, the issues to be addressed and the expected results, invited his counterparts to the forum and shared Türkiye's vision in the field of global transport. He emphasized that the forum will be an important platform for strengthening international cooperation and developing regional connections.
Development Road Project Evaluated with UAE
During the meeting between Minister Uraloğlu and UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Mohamed Al Mazroui, the Development Path Project, one of the most important projects of cooperation between Türkiye and the UAE, was also discussed. A detailed assessment was made of the current status of the project, areas of progress and challenges encountered. Emphasizing the importance of technical and diplomatic contacts between the two countries, Uraloğlu stated that the project has strategic importance for the region.
Türkiye's Global Transportation Vision
Due to its geographical location, Türkiye is an important bridge between Asia and Europe. By using this strategic advantage, it aims to play an active role in the development of global transportation corridors.
