The 23rd important meeting of the Operation Commission of All Rail System Operators Association (TÜRSİD) was successfully held on 8-9 May 2025, hosted by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Inc.
This event, which brought together representatives of rail system operators from different cities in Türkiye, created a productive platform for sharing knowledge and experience in the sector. Valuable participants from Antalya (Ulaşım A.Ş.), Bursa (Burulaş), Eskişehir (Estram A.Ş.), Gaziantep (Gaziulaş), İstanbul (Metro İstanbul), İzmir (Metro A.Ş.), Kocaeli (UlaşımPark A.Ş.) and Konya (Konya Metropolitan Municipality) had the opportunity to evaluate the latest developments and good practice examples in the sector within the scope of the intensive two-day program.
Innovations and Energy Projects in Public Transportation Were Discussed
On the first day of the meeting, various informative presentations were made by different institutions operating in the field of public transportation. These presentations addressed the challenges faced by rail system operators in cities, innovative solutions implemented and future projects. In addition, detailed information was provided to the participants about the environmentally friendly Wind Power Plant (RES) and Solar Power Plant (SPP) projects implemented by the host Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Inc. These projects revealed the importance given to sustainability and energy efficiency in the public transportation sector.
Another important topic of the day was the mutual sharing of good examples successfully implemented in rail system operations in participating cities. Rail system operators from different cities shared with each other the innovative methods they implemented in their own cities, the difficulties they encountered in operational processes and the solution approaches they developed for these difficulties, contributing to the increase in knowledge in the sector. This interactive sharing provided participants with the opportunity to gain different perspectives and new ideas that could be applied in their own operations.
Wind Power Plant Site Inspected On-Site
On the second day of the meeting, a technical tour was organized to see the practical applications of theoretical knowledge. As part of this tour, participants had the opportunity to closely examine the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Inc. Wind Power Plant site, which is a pioneering step in the field of public transportation in Türkiye. During the technical tour, Kayseri Transportation Inc. General Manager Mehmet Canbulut accompanied the guest participants to the plant and provided comprehensive information about the project details, technical specifications and environmental impacts. Participants had the opportunity to see on site the potential contributions that this innovative energy project could provide to the public transportation sector.
This successful meeting of the TURSID Operation Commission held in Kayseri strengthened the cooperation between the rail system operators in Türkiye and made significant contributions to the dissemination of innovations and good practice examples in the sector. The participants were impressed by the hospitality of Kayseri and the successful projects of Ulasma A.S. and returned to their own cities with new ideas.
