
Kim Eunja, the Korean who inspired the unforgettable film "Ayla" in Turkish cinema, has passed away. Kim Eunja, who had been struggling with dementia recently, succumbed to pneumonia, which she caught for the second time, and passed away yesterday.
In a written statement made by the Turkish Embassy in Seoul, it was stated that Kim Eunja lived with her children and grandchildren in the city of Incheon, near Seoul. The statement stated that Kim Eunja had pneumonia after contracting Covid-2022 in 19 and was also taken under protection by the Korean Ministry of Veterans and Patriots. Kim Eunja, who had been receiving treatment at the Elderly Care Unit of Songdo Hana Hospital near Incheon for a while, had recently developed dementia and died as a result of a relapse of pneumonia.
Kim Eunja, who maintained her deep love for Türkiye until her last moments, was frequently visited by the Turkish Embassy in Seoul. Following the news of her death, Turkish Ambassador to Seoul Murat Tamer visited Kim Eunja's funeral home and conveyed his condolences to her family.
