
Established approximately 1.5 years ago within the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Department of Culture and Social Affairs Mersin Cinema Office, has taken its support for film projects to the international arena. After previously supporting a film and a documentary, the office is now supporting a series of international film projects based in the Czech Republic. “The Extractors II” hosts the shootings.
Mersin Selected for Middle East Themed Series
The second season of the 6-episode series, which is financed by a company called MOVIE SRO in the Czech Republic and is about a group of agents operating in crisis regions in the Middle East who have to make decisions that may affect both their own lives and the lives of innocent civilians due to their duties, was shot with the support of the Mersin Cinema Office. In Tarsus is being carried out.
Produced by Adam Dvorak and David Rauch, and directed by Jan Pavlacky, the series also features actors from Türkiye. The campus of Çukurova Factory Filming continues in different parts of Tarsus, especially Completion on June 13 is being planned.

Working at the Mersin Cinema Office and working as the project coordinator of the film “Rescuers-2” Arzu Gorgulu, expressed his happiness for being involved in an international project for the first time. Görgülü stated that Mersin Cinema Office is one of the visionary projects of President Vahap Seçer and said, “This is a visionary project that has made quite a splash in the international arena. The cinema sector is mainly in Istanbul. I think the office has an important place in terms of opening a new area for the cinema sector in Mersin and also in terms of promoting the city. Because we have come a long way in 1.5 years.” He added that they have supported one feature film and one documentary since the opening of the office.
Praise from Producers to Mersin Cinema Office
Producer of the TV series “Rescuers-2” Adam Dvorak, stated that they visited many places in Türkiye but decided on Mersin due to both its suitability and the support of the Cinema Office. Dvorak said, “There are beautiful locations, it is a wonderful country. I am happy to come to Türkiye and shoot here. The people are beautiful, the food is great. Mersin Cinema Office is a great idea. We are here thanks to them. We traveled all over Türkiye and eventually found this venue, then we met with the Mersin Cinema Office. We were completed like a puzzle. They were very supportive in terms of production, their support was great,” he said.
Executive producer of the study David Rauch da, stating that they found a suitable working environment for the shootings, said, “We have shot in Türkiye before, this is our second shooting. We were in Van before and there was no Cinema Office. Now, this is a nice place for people who make movies all over the world. Because when you want to make a movie, there is a team that helps us with everything you need. Of course, as in every movie shooting, we were a little nervous and stressed from the beginning. But now we are learning how things work and we are starting to enjoy the shootings.”
The director of the movie Jan Pavlacky He expressed his satisfaction by saying that the support they received from the Mersin Cinema Office was important to them and said, “First of all, everything is great. We didn’t have much experience with this city yet. We have been shooting here for about a week. But now I look forward to shooting in the rest of the city. It is always nice to have support.”
