STM, the engineering powerhouse of the Turkish defense industry, has launched the KARGU FPV Kamikaze Drone, which will be a new force on the battlefield, for the first time. Türkiye's domestic FPV Kamikaze Drone successfully hit its target in its first test shot.
In line with Türkiye’s goal of a fully independent defense industry, STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., which develops national and modern systems, has created a local solution in the field of FPV Drones, which are increasingly used in modern warfare. Having successfully proven itself in the world arena with tactical mini UAV systems such as KARGU, BOYGA, and TOGAN, STM has launched the “KARGU FPV Drone”, which it has been working on for a while, into the field for the first time. After the integration of the design, system, ammunition and fuse, KARGU FPV, which went into the field, hit the target group with a direct hit in the test shot it conducted.
Güleryüz: We Add Our Autonomous Capabilities to FPV Drones
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz stated that STM has increased the operational capabilities of security forces with its field-proven mini UAV systems and continued as follows:
“Now, we are offering a national and innovative solution in the battlefield with our FPV kamikaze drone family. We have equipped the first member of our family, which we developed for operational needs, with an advanced military security fuse and the ability to operate without being affected by electronic warfare. We are adding STM’s autonomy and artificial intelligence-supported image processing and precision strike capabilities to FPV. Unlike its counterparts, the product we have presented can mark the target with its image processing-supported autonomous terminal dive capability and make a precise strike. We will add our high autonomy and computer vision capabilities to the future members of our FPV Drone family and present innovative FPV products.”
Advanced Security, Precise Strike with Autonomy
Providing a deterrent force against dynamic threats in asymmetric warfare environments, the KARGU FPV Kamikaze Drone targets enemy elements with its operator-controlled real-time vision system and neutralizes its target with its on-board anti-personnel ammunition. With its high maneuverability, day and night effective operation capability and low radar cross-section, the KARGU FPV provides precision strikes against fixed or moving targets. Equipped with an advanced military security fuse and integrated day and night camera, the KARGU FPV will be able to operate without being affected by electronic warfare systems such as jamming/blinding. The platform offers automatic detonation at adjustable distances with its proximity fuse sensor, while its image processing supported autonomous terminal diving capability marks the target and provides a precise hit.

What is an FPV Drone?
FPV (First Person View) Drones, which came to the fore especially with the Ukraine-Russia war, stand out as a low-cost and effective attack tool that the operator flies by receiving real-time images from the drone's camera via glasses or a screen and can make precise strikes by directing it directly to the target.
