
The International Muğla Choirs Festival began with an opening ceremony held in Cumhuriyet Square. The Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra gave a concert at the opening night. The orchestra received full marks from the audience with its repertoire of distinguished classical music pieces.
Later, the Metropolitan Municipality Polyphonic Children's Choir took the stage and won the admiration of the audience with the songs they sang.
Following the musical feast, students from the metropolitan municipality's Folk Dance Department staged traditional dances from different regions of Anatolia, taking the audience on a cultural journey. The Chernomorski Zvutski Choir from Bulgaria also took the stage at the event. The stage, sound and light arrangements for the International Muğla Choir Festival were made by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality.
The International Muğla Choirs Festival was held in cooperation with the Muğla Governorship, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University and Muğla Science and Art Center.
Stating that the festival has great cultural importance for Muğla, Coastal Aegean Municipalities Union and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras said, “As Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, we will always support cultural events. Muğla is an important city not only with its natural beauties but also with its rich cultural heritage. We always prioritize cultural activities in order to keep this heritage alive and share it with the whole world.”
