Great Danger Averted in Denizli Cable Car

Despite the report of unusability received in 2020, the Bağbaşı Plateau Cable Car Facility, one of Denizli's important tourism centers, providing service for four years has caused great danger. In the detailed examinations made after Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu took office, 3600 broken points were detected in the 337-meter steel rope, revealing a possible disaster. Following this grave situation, the facility was urgently taken out of service approximately one year ago and taken into a comprehensive renovation process.

BELTAŞ A.Ş. Chairman of the Board of Directors İbrahim Doğan and the accompanying technical delegation examined the ongoing maintenance and renovation work on site and evaluated the latest situation. In his statement, Doğan emphasized that it was unacceptable for the risky report of 2020 to be ignored for four years, and stated that a great danger was avoided thanks to the sensitivity of President Çavuşoğlu.

Extensive Renovation Work Continues

As part of the renovation work, the cable car's rope systems are being completely replaced, and radical improvements are being made to its mechanical and electrical components. In addition, the planning process for additional projects that will increase the region's appeal is ongoing. İbrahim Doğan stated that Denizli is no longer talking about past negligence, but about future security, and said that the safety of citizens is the top priority and that the cable car will operate in its safest condition when it is put back into service.

High Interest Expected in Summer Season

Denizli Teleferik and Bağbaşı Yaylası are expected to be flooded with local and foreign tourists in the summer season with their renewed appearance. This important touristic spot, which offers the opportunity to watch the unique natural beauties of the city from a bird's eye view, is eagerly awaited by visitors as it is prepared to provide service in a safe and modern way. Authorities state that the renovation work is being carried out meticulously and that the facility will be reopened after being completed as soon as possible.
