In this context, Pedal-assisted electric bicycles have started to provide service on the Atakum coastline. This new application makes an important contribution to the city's sustainable transportation goals.
First Phase: 100 Electric Bicycles in Service
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality keeps the 'nature-friendly' service concept at the forefront in every project it implements. With this sensitivity, it continues to rapidly introduce new and up-to-date applications in urban transportation to the city. Finally, the Metropolitan Municipality's subsidiary SAMULAŞ INC. As a result of the work carried out by the Atakum coastline, pedal-assisted electric bicycles have started to provide service. In the first stage, 100 pedal-assisted electric bikes, It was placed on the coastal road and light rail system stops in Atakum district.
The bikes can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It can be rented via the 'TAZI' application. Electric bicycles, which provide ease of riding with pedal support, are equipped with a fully charged battery. As a result of the cooperation we have made with a private company, our people will now be able to use pedal-assisted electric bicycles for transportation on the Atakum district coastline. Our coastline has the distinction of being one of the important tourism locations of Samsun. Especially our young people, local and foreign guests coming from outside the province spend a lot of time in this region. We are also implementing many studies and making new plans for this special tourism region of ours. We expect the pedal-assisted electric bicycles, which offer easy and environmentally friendly transportation on the Atakum coastline during the summer season, to attract attention.
