EU Increases Pressure on Russia for Sanctions

Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, stressed that they are constantly increasing the pressure on Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

Kallas expressed his satisfaction with the agreement reached on the 17th package of sanctions, stating that this new package will continue to target Russia's war financing. In particular, the "shadow fleet" that Russia uses to increase its oil revenues and transports oil illegally will be targeted more comprehensively, Kallas said, adding that the sanctions imposed are gradually depleting Russia's war funds.
