Denizli 37th International Amateur Theatre Festival Starts Tomorrow

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality is once again bringing the power of art and culture to the stage. The 37th International Amateur Theatre Festival will bring Denizli together with theatre-filled days between May 23 and June 1, 2025.

The curtain opens from the Art City Denizli to the world stage

A total of 22 theater groups, including groups from five different countries and groups from all over Türkiye, will stage 26 different plays. Approximately 300 theater artists will be hosted in Denizli, along with public theater workshops to be held throughout the festival. The festival will open on Friday, May 23 at 16.45:XNUMX with a traditional procession that will start from the Governor's Office and extend to Delikliçınar Square. On the same evening, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Theater will crown the opening of the festival by performing the play "Colonel Bird", which will be staged for the first time.

This year's festival will feature theater groups from countries such as Uzbekistan, Tbilisi (Georgia), Iran, Azerbaijan and Gagauz/Moldova. In addition, amateur theater artists will share the same stage with professional teams at the event, which will feature municipal and university theaters from different cities in Türkiye. The festival will close on Sunday, June 1, with the popular play "Deli Bayramı" to be staged by DasDas Theater at the Ziya Tıkıroğlu Open Air Theater.
