Call for Sadness and Common Sense in Parliamentary Events

Referring to the saddening events that took place in Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Council, Mayor Mustafa Bozbey expressed his shame on behalf of the people of Bursa. Expressing that he was deeply saddened by the council members who were assigned to the city administration causing such an incident, Mayor Bozbey said, “We never want Bursa to be talked about in this way. Those who did this are clear. I believe that the relevant political party will make an assessment and make a decision. My greatest wish is for such an incident not to happen again. Bursa has passed a very important test after many years. The young people on the street say, ‘We have become free, we are happy, we are smiling.’ We have provided services and we have things to do. However, trust has formed in people. A brotherhood, sincerity and an environment where no one looks at another as the other has formed. Bursa is now united. Everyone has to respect those who are different from them, every idea and thought. You can feel respect until you insult your personality. We are against insulting your personality and swearing. We must now manage the Council according to its normal regulations in order to prevent such unrest.” These statements by Mayor Bozbey reveal his sensitivity to preserving the atmosphere of unity and solidarity in the city and his expectation that the parliamentary work should be carried out on a more constructive basis.
