Batman Governor Ekrem Canalp inspected the ring road under construction. Governor Canalp announced that they were planning two separate ring road projects in order to permanently solve the city's transportation problems. It was also stated that the road, which is currently undergoing asphalt paving work, was designed in accordance with the future rail system integration.
Batman Governor and Deputy Mayor Ekrem Canalp, together with AK Party Batman Deputy Ferhat Nasıroğlu, examined the rapidly progressing ring road on site. Governor Canalp and Deputy Nasıroğlu, who participated in the asphalt paving works on the approximately 5-kilometer route starting from the old airport junction and extending to the Southern Ring Road, supported the works by taking control of the construction machines.
50-Year Transportation Vision and Two Ring Road Projects
Governor Canalp emphasized that they aimed to produce a long-term solution to Batman's transportation problems with a 50-year perspective during the examinations and announced the good news that they were planning to build two separate ring roads in the city.
Stating that the existing route, where asphalt has been laid, constitutes an important part of the first ring road to be implemented by the Batman Municipality, Governor Canalp also explained the project's vision for the future. Canalp said, “This road was designed in a way that a rail system can be established in the future. A gap was left on the right side of the road for this purpose. Citizens will be able to travel quickly and serially from one end of Batman to the other by passing through the first ring road without entering city traffic,” and emphasized the importance of the project. This statement is considered an important step for Batman's future transportation infrastructure.
