Anadolu Isuzu was deemed worthy of the “Mobility Technology Award” at the Transportation of Reason Awards, organized for the eighth time this year, with its “Deep Learning Based Security Solution Against Left Lane Occupations of Heavy Commercial Vehicles” project. The project, all processes of which were carried out by the Anadolu Isuzu R&D team, was developed with the aim of providing solutions to heavy traffic and increasing road safety problems.
Türkiye’s commercial vehicle brand Anadolu Isuzu was once again deemed worthy of an award at the 8th Transportation’s Way of Reason Awards. Anadolu Isuzu won the “Mobility Technology Award” with its “Deep Learning Based Security Solution Against Left Lane Occupations of Heavy Commercial Vehicles” project. The award was presented to Anadolu Isuzu R&D Electrical Electronic Systems Director Birkan Atlamaz at the ceremony held at Teknopark Ankara on April 16.
Anadolu Isuzu R&D Electrical Electronic Systems Director Birkan Atlamaz made the following statement regarding the award: “We are proud to be awarded for our pioneering solutions in our sector and especially our work to increase road safety. This project, where we bring together advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and deep learning with transportation safety, is not only an R&D success, but also a social responsibility step that contributes to traffic safety and public benefit. With this award, we have proven our leadership in R&D and technology once again. As Anadolu Isuzu, we will continue to invest in safer and smarter solutions.”
Leading the industry with its AI-based security project
All development processes of the “Deep Learning Based Security Solution Against Left Lane Occupation of Heavy Commercial Vehicles” project were carried out by engineers in Anadolu Isuzu’s R&D team. Developed with the aim of providing solutions to heavy traffic and increasing road safety problems, the project offers an artificial intelligence-supported security system to prevent heavy commercial vehicle drivers from unnecessarily occupying the left lane. A prototype system was developed with the project to prevent heavy commercial vehicle drivers from using the left lane unnecessarily and to encourage them to prefer the right lane. The camera integrated into the vehicle creates a data set by analyzing lane lines, barriers and other vehicles in real time. This data is processed with advanced deep learning algorithms to detect instant left lane occupation. The system encourages drivers to proceed in the right lane by giving them visual and audible warnings. The system, which uses artificial intelligence and image processing technologies, aims to reduce unnecessary left lane occupation of heavy commercial vehicle vehicles, improve traffic flow and prevent possible congestions in the left lane caused by commercial vehicles.
