TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ General Manager and Chairman of the Board Ufuk Yalçın announced Türkiye's railway vision and important projects for the future during a meeting with students of the Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) Mechanical Engineering Department. Yalçın, who is excited to be back at KTÜ after 28 years since his graduation, expressed his appreciation for the point Türkiye has reached.
Emphasis on Domestic Production: Independent Türkiye from Defense Industry to Railways
Ufuk Yalçın underlined that Türkiye has gone through difficult processes and has become a country that can produce in many areas from defense industry to railways with its own means. Summarizing the distance Türkiye has covered with the words “There is no mercy without effort”, Yalçın drew attention to the importance of the country being able to produce its own trains, locomotives and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV-SIHA). Emphasizing that Türkiye has a strong and self-confident youth, Yalçın said, “As a representative of this generation, I bear the responsibility of KTÜ graduates. We prioritize love of country and flag in all our steps.”
Türkiye Growing on Railways: 2035 Targets Becoming Clear
Yalçın, who also touched upon the importance of railways in Turkey's history, stated that the country has a railway network of approximately 14 thousand kilometers and 2 kilometers of this network consists of high-speed train lines. Yalçın, who also explained Türkiye's growth targets in the railway sector, said: The total length of high-speed train lines will reach 2035 thousand kilometers by 6. Yalçın gave the good news.
