Travelling ESHOT Exhibition Blows a Nostalgic Wind on April 23

Presenting the deep-rooted history of Izmir public transportation and the 82-year history of ESHOT with rich content, the “ESHOT Traveling Exhibition from Past to Present” opened its doors to visitors on April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day in Konak Square with its renewed design. Offering a wide range from old documents to nostalgic photographs, from bus models to historical objects and items used in Izmir transportation, the exhibition was highly acclaimed and took its visitors on an enjoyable journey through time.

The special design of the 41 new blue buses, which were added to the fleet with the assumption of office by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay and called “evil eye beads” by the people of Izmir, was also applied to this mobile exhibition bus. ESHOT General Manager Övünç Özgen also visited the exhibition, experiencing the excitement of April 23 with the people of Izmir.

Special Evil Eye Bead Models for Children

Cardboard models of the blue “evil eye bead” themed buses, which have become the new symbol of Izmir, were presented to children who visited the exhibition for the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. This special exterior design, inspired by the city’s symbols, was met with great satisfaction by the citizens and became one of the most popular elements of the exhibition. This special exhibition, which also reflected the excitement of the holiday, attracted great attention, especially from children, young people, families and those interested in the history of Izmir.

A Bridge Between Past and Present

The exhibition, which can be visited free of charge between 12.00:19.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX, was flooded by hundreds of Izmir residents throughout the day. Shedding light on Izmir's public transportation history, allowing children and young people to get acquainted with the history of transportation, and building a meaningful bridge between the past and the present, the exhibition provided both informative and emotional moments to its visitors. The Traveling ESHOT Exhibition aims to continue meeting with Izmir residents at different points in Izmir in the coming days, and to convey the city's transportation history to a wider audience.
