Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced important steps towards strengthening the transport infrastructure of Siirt. Minister Uraloğlu stated that Siirt Airport was renovated and opened to civil aviation and currently 14 weekly flights are made to Ankara and Istanbul. He also announced that work has begun on a new terminal building that will increase the annual passenger capacity from 100 thousand to 250 thousand in order to meet the increasing passenger demand.
Siirt-Kurtalan Railway Project in 2025 Investment Program

The tender for this 2025-kilometer line, which was included in the 34 investment program with the approval of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will be held on May 28. Existing Railway Lines Are Being Modernized
Minister Uraloğlu, who stated that it would not be enough to just build new lines, announced that the existing railway lines would also be modernized. The good news was given that the Yolçatı-Diyarbakır-Kurtalan and Diyarbakır-Mazıdağ lines would be modernized and the design speed would be increased to 160 kilometers per hour.
