
AK Party Mersin Provincial Chairman Adem Aldemir examined the construction works of the Tarsus stage of the Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep High Speed Train Project on site. Meeting with tradesmen, muhtars and families of martyrs as part of his Tarsus visits, Chairman Aldemir later visited the construction site of the high speed train project, which is currently under construction, and received detailed information from the authorities.
Travel Time Will Be Significantly Shortened
During his inspections, Chairman Aldemir was accompanied by AK Party Provincial Executive Board Members, Tarsus District Chairman Abdurrahman Altınsucu, Tarsus District Organization and Youth Branch District Chairman Mert Elmas. Chairman Aldemir, who received information about the project’s progress during his visit to the construction site, noted that when the Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep High Speed Train Project is completed, the current 361-kilometer distance will be reduced to 312 kilometers and the travel time of 6 hours and 23 minutes will be reduced to just 2 hours and 15 minutes. This situation means a significant transformation in regional transportation.
The Historical Texture of Tarsus Train Station Will Be Protected
President Aldemir, who placed special emphasis on the Tarsus city crossing stage of the project, stated that 330 meters of this section consists of open section and 2 meters of the closed section, and that the total length is 470 meters. Drawing attention to the importance of preserving the historical texture of the existing Tarsus Train Station thanks to the platform area to be built underground, Aldemir stated that this sensitivity adds value to the project. He added that with the completion of the project, transportation between Mersin and Gaziantep will reach contemporary standards and make significant contributions to the regional economy. President Aldemir, who stated that the construction works continue uninterruptedly, stated that all necessary works are being carried out meticulously for the project to be completed as soon as possible and offered to the public.
