News and visuals have emerged that a C-130E Hercules military transport plane was used to transport some military systems from Türkiye to Pakistan. According to information obtained from Flightradar 24, a C-130E Hercules type transport plane that took off from Türkiye has arrived in Pakistan. In a post by an X (former Twitter) user named Pakistan Military, it was claimed that a total of 6 C-130E Hercules transport planes have arrived in Pakistan.
Speculations About the Contents of the Shipment
Although no official statement has been made regarding what kind of military supplies were carried on the cargo planes, according to a claim by an X-user named Indus Viper, various ammunition such as the KARAOK anti-tank missile and the MAM-L, MAM-C and KEMANKEŞ used in Bayraktar TB2 S/UAVs were delivered from Türkiye to Pakistan. This claim provides important clues about the content of the shipment.
Tensions in the Region Escalate
The military deployment comes after serious tensions between India and Pakistan in the Kashmir region. Tensions rose in the region on Tuesday, April 22, when armed militants killed 26 tourists in an attack in the Pahalgam town of the disputed Kashmir region. The attack has led to widespread military tension, with the United Nations (UN) calling on all parties to exercise “utmost restraint.” According to the French news agency AFP, clashes have reportedly erupted along the Line of Control (LOC), which marks the border between Pakistan and India in Kashmir.
Indian sources have claimed in statements to Al Jazeera that the attack was launched by Pakistan. A government official in Pakistan-administered Kashmir confirmed that soldiers opened fire on each other, but did not say who opened fire first. Diplomatic and political showdowns between India and Pakistan continue in the region.
Tough Measures from Pakistan
In this atmosphere of increasing tension, Pakistan has taken a series of tough measures. First, the Islamabad administration, which closed Pakistani airspace to Indian airlines, also rejected New Delhi’s attempt to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, a critical water-sharing agreement. In addition, Pakistan’s latest statement categorically emphasized that India’s diplomatic staff in Islamabad will be limited to a maximum of 30 people as of April 30, and that Pakistani airspace will be closed to all flights belonging to or operated by India. This military deployment from Türkiye is considered a remarkable development in the context of the delicate balances and increasing tensions in the region.
