Major Contract in Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project

NCC Limited, one of India’s leading construction companies, has received the formal Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the Railway Infrastructure Development Corporation of Karnataka (K-RIDE) for the design and construction of nine stations forming a major portion of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) Corridor 4 (also known as Kanaka Line).

Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project Corridor 4 Details

Corridor 4, one of the critical stretches of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project, covers a stretch of 19 km between Heelalige and Rajanukunte, connecting a total of 46,88 stations. However, the Package C4B contract undertaken by NCC Limited involves the development of only nine stations on this long corridor.

Tender Process and Acceptance of NCC's Offer

NCC Limited’s bid of Rs 649,15 crore (approximately US$78 million) was one of the responses to K-RIDE’s tender with a base value of Rs 528,05 crore. The technical bids filed by K-RIDE on September 9, 2024, showed that only NCC Limited and RVNL–Rithwik JV (joint venture) companies participated in the tender.

After a detailed examination of the technical bids on February 18, 2025, K-RIDE rejected the bid of RVNL–Rithwik JV for various reasons. Following this, the financial bids were evaluated on April 25, 2025 and NCC Limited was declared as the lowest bidder to be awarded the contract as it was the only remaining bidder in the tender.

NCC's Responsibilities in the Project

The primary responsibility of NCC Limited under this important contract is to construct nine modern stations on the Corridor 4B route. This comprehensive work will include detailed civil works, aesthetic architectural finishes and installation of necessary electrical and mechanical systems for the stations. The nine stations to be constructed are named as Channasandra, Horamavu, Hennur, Thanisandra, RK Hegdenagar, Jakkur, Yelahanka, Muddanahalli and Rajankunte.

NCC's Other Major Railway Contract in Bengaluru

In addition to the Package C4B contract, NCC Limited’s presence in the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project is getting stronger. The company had also won another major contract, Package C2025-A, worth Rs 501,25 crore from K-RIDE in January 2. This package covers the construction of eight stations on Corridor 2, also known as the Mallige Line.

With these newly won contracts, NCC Limited reinforces its key role in the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project and becomes a major player in the city’s rapidly developing transportation infrastructure. These projects aim to improve the quality of life of the city’s residents by providing solutions to transportation challenges in Bengaluru’s suburban areas.
