
With the participation of Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu and Minister of National Education Prof. Dr. Yusuf Tekin, the “Healthy Child, Healthy Future” program was introduced and a cooperation protocol was signed between the two Ministries.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, a comprehensive mobilization for child health was launched throughout Türkiye with the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of National Education.
The “Healthy Child, Healthy Future” program is not just a project; it is defined as an institutional and sustainable step of the vision of building Türkiye's future with healthy generations.
With the program, education, practices and health services aimed at improving the physical, mental and social health of school-age children will be carried out with an integrated approach. In this context, students will be declared “Health Ambassadors” in order to increase their health knowledge and share it with their environment and become a part of this transformation.
The cooperation protocol between the two ministries was signed by Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu and Minister of National Education Prof. Dr. Yusuf Tekin at the promotional event of the “Healthy Child, Healthy Future” program held in Istanbul.
The practices to be carried out in 81 provinces through cooperation cover multifaceted topics such as oral and dental health, hygiene, physical activity, healthy nutrition, first aid, immunization services and health literacy.
The aim is to increase the health literacy level of not only students but also teachers, school staff and parents, and to transform school environments into healthier and safer spaces.
The protocol will be carried out under the coordination of the General Directorate of Public Health and the General Directorate of Health Development on behalf of the Ministry of Health, and the General Directorate of Support Services and the General Directorate of Basic Education on behalf of the Ministry of National Education.
