Good News of Licensed Warehouse to Bring Joy to Hazelnut Producers in Ordu

The licensed warehouse project, which Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler has been working on meticulously for a long time and which will solve the bleeding wound of hazelnut producers in the region, the deposit problem, is coming to life. Minister of Industry and Technology M. Fatih Kacır gave the good news that a licensed warehouse will be established in Ordu at the DOKAP Action Plan Information and Consultation Meeting and the Economic Coordination Board Meeting held in Giresun.

Minister Kacır Promises Full Support

Minister Kacır, who attended the meeting, stated that as the Ministry of Industry and Technology, all bureaucratic processes of the licensed warehouse will be completed quickly and all kinds of support will be provided during the construction phase. Kacır shared the good news with the public by saying, “Ordu will have a licensed warehouse.”

President Guler's Determined Efforts Have Yielded Results

Former Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler discussed the licensed warehouse issue in detail with Minister of Industry and Technology M. Fatih Kacır within the scope of the meeting. This good news that came after the meeting is considered as a result of Mayor Güler's determined work focused on solutions to the problems of hazelnut producers.

President Güler, drawing attention to the fact that the good news of the licensed warehouse is of vital importance for hazelnut producers, said, “We will provide our producers with a licensed warehouse consisting of 35 silos (hazelnut storage tanks) and a capacity of 20 thousand tons. We will no longer be a toy in the hands of foreigners in hazelnuts. We are also solving this problem of the producer who has to release his hazelnuts to the market ‘as a deposit’ after giving them to the thresher.”

Important Steps Taken in the Hazelnut Sector

President Güler’s visionary and devoted efforts in the hazelnut sector since the day he took office continue to bear fruit. Bringing together the Ministers of Agriculture of Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan in Ordu to sign a joint international declaration, developing projects to address the labor problem in hazelnut harvesting, and the Hazelnut Productivity (FİNVER) project, which aims to increase productivity in gardens, are just a few of these efforts.

In addition, President Güler, who created a brand called “Kybele” from hazelnuts and added value, initiated an investigation against an Italian company that was trying to manipulate hazelnut prices by taking action with the Competition Authority and led the company to sign a protocol. President Güler, who also paved the way for innovative projects such as animal feed from hazelnut capsules and active carbon production from hazelnut shells, took a critical step in bringing the licensed warehouse project, which has been talked about for many years but could not be implemented, to the region. This development is considered the beginning of a promising period for hazelnut producers in Ordu and the region.
